Arrival

Travelling by train | public transport

You can  find all the information you need about travelling by Deutsche Bahn at www.bahn.de

Selected long-distance and regional trains as well as regional trains RE2 from Metronom and RE10 from erixx stop directly at the "Hannover Messe/Laatzen" trade fair station during EuroTier / EnergyDecentral. From there it is a 5-minute walk to the West 1 entrance.

FlixTrain also offers train connections to Hanover. Some train connections take you directly to the fair train station Laatzen or to the Hanover main train station. FlixBus may be a good travel option as well.

If you are travelling from Hanover Central Station, you can reach the exhibition grounds (North Entrance) in 20 minutes on tram lines 8 and E (booster). At the main station, follow the blue markings labelled "U". Alternatively, you can take the S-Bahn S4 to the exhibition centre (Hannover Messe/Laatzen).

You can obtain the timetable and further information from ÜSTRA.

The admission ticket to EuroTier/EnergyDecentral is not a combined ticket for free travel on public transport. However, the Greater Hannover Transport Authority (GVH) will offer tickets for exhibitors and permanent visitors from the first to the last day of the fair via the mobility shop or the GVH app. Further information will follow.

Detailed information and navigation aid

Please use the recommended navigation system - NUNAV app

CAR:

  • Simply download the free NUNAV app on your mobile phone. Instead of an address, enter EuroTier .

Buses:

  • Via the app NUNAV Bus app, transport corridors and individual journey recommendations are sent directly to bus companies. Each user of the NUNAV Bus app receives an individualised driving recommendation that is always coordinated with all other road users. This actively avoids traffic jams.

Further information and app download

Current traffic information is available at www.vmz-niedersachsen.de.

Various car parks are available for visitors to the trade fair.

Travelling by plane

You can reach Hanover by plane with scheduled and charter flights from Germany and abroad. You can also find information on this at www.hannover-airport.de. From Hanover Airport you can reach the exhibition centre by public transport or the EuroTier / EnergyDecentral shuttle service.

With suburban railway line S5 to Hanover main station (travel time approx. 15 minutes). Where to change alternatively to:

  • Subway/tram line U8 or U18 (trade fair/north), travel time approx. 20 minutes or
  • Suburban railway line S4 or regional trains (Hannover Messe / Laatzen, West 1)

Alternatively, an exclusive EuroTier shuttle service is available during the trade fair for EUR 25 each way. The shuttle bus runs on demand, regardless of the timetable. You will find information about the bus shuttle at Hanover Airport on the arrivals levels of all 3 terminals and at the exhibition centre in the West 1 entrance area. For more information and reservations, please visit: www.bfmhaj.com/messeshuttle

Visa information

  • A visa to visit the trade fair should be applied for at the earliest six months, but no later than four weeks before travelling. In many cases, however, processing by the responsible German embassy or consulate takes longer than four weeks. Please plan accordingly.
  • Information on the visa procedure, the requirements for obtaining a visa, visa fees and application forms can be found on the website of the Federal Foreign Office and on the websites of the relevant embassies and consulates in your home country.
  • As early as 2013, the Federal Foreign Office informed the visa offices of German embassies and consulates worldwide that trade fair visitors and exhibitors generally no longer require a letter of invitation from the trade fair organiser to apply for a trade fair visa (see: AUMA website). Please refer to this information when applying for your visa.
  • As the organiser of the trade fair, DLG Service GmbH assumes no legal and/or financial responsibility in connection with your visit to the trade fair. For this reason, general letters of invitation from the trade fair organiser are generally not helpful. This is in contrast to business trips, for which a specific German business partner as the inviting company potentially coordinates and finances your trip.
  • Exhibitors require confirmation of their paid stand registration instead of a letter of invitation and the visa fee is usually waived for them (see website of the Federal Foreign Office).
